My response to the NY Times article on Florida requiring Evolution to be taught in schools
Fact 2: Evolution is based on faith. It is still a THEORY. It still has no single scientific evidentiary proof that it happened or happens. There is no missing link that did not turn out to be a hoax like the Cro-magnon man and even the Neanderthal man. It defies even the science of probability. It defies the science of Genetics - Like the mule which is a cross-between a horse and a donkey, all hybrids or mutants are sterile and CANNOT reproduce! How then can it survive as a distinct specie or mutant? Evolution is based on guessing and blind faith, not science.
Fact 3: Adaptation (micro-evolution to be politically correct) like a butterfly or bird or lizard changing colors is NOT Darwinian Evolution (macro-evolution). Even Darwin rejected his theory before his death, frustrated that he did not have proof to make it a science.
Fact 4: Most evolutionists do not care to dabble in Intelligent design because it is common sense and contradicts evolution. If a Ford Explorer needs intelligent design, how much more our complex universe. If I put all the spare parts of a Ford Explorer in a room, can any evolutionist estimate the time it becomes an assembled Ford Explorer without human intervention? Is it within imagination that a series of earthquakes, floods, volcanic eruptions could eventually move all the spare parts rivetted together into a Ford Explorer?
Fact 5: In my younger days, I tried to seriously defend Evolution but failed. I now reject it like snake oil. Most people who reject evolution do not do so simply for religious reasons. Evolution simply does NOT make sense for a logical mind who demands more proof and less contradiction to the rest of empirical science. Yes, Intelligent Design does not have much scientific proof either, but it does not have scientific contradictions and it has lots of evidentiary proof.
